several hours ago as of me typing this, right-wing influencer charlie kirk has been murdered while holding a debate at a utah valley university campus.
i never watched this man's content. i'd likely disagree with most of his takes, even as someone who stands against the democrat party. i agree with the basic concept that transgenders have the right to simply be transgender, along with the rights that any other american has by default, but transgenderism is not an excuse to commit sexual or violent crime.
calling everyone who disagrees with the democrat party a nazi is exactly why shit like this happens. it is used to justify murdering your political opposition by convincing everyone around you that disagreeing with you makes them inhuman, which is the most inhuman form of bigotry a human can commit.
the most common tactic fascist governments use is convincing the public that their political opposition is less than human. they then coerce you into murdering innocents by convincing you that they are subhuman. the thousands you murder are as capable of human thought as you are, and to believe that they are less than human is, itself, inhuman.
to everyone celebrating charlie kirk's death, you are the system. you are the establishment. you are the oppressor. your rhetoric is systemically condoned and you have no moral justification for wanting your political opposition wiped off of the earth. it is not immoral to have a different opinion.
charlie kirk was a painfully flawed and deluded man, but him being republican does not negate him being human.
if you simply disagree with charlie kirk's ideology, i am willing to have a conversation with you.
if you wanted charlie kirk dead because the masses told you to, fuck you and fuck everything you stand for.
murdering your political opposition is a fascist tactic.
